Dr. Steven QuamDr. Quam was born and raised in Central Iowa and has lived in the Des Moines area for over 20 years. Dr. Steven Quam graduated with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, IA. He also did his residency training in Anesthesiology at Grand Rapids Osteopathic Hospital in Grand Rapids Michigan. Dr. Quam is an Anesthesiologist and Medical Director at the Surgery Center of Des Moines, West. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. He has vast experience (21 + yrs) in interventional pain medicine and management of chronic pain. Dr. Quam is a member of several societies including International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS) and American Academy of Pain Medicine. Dr. Quam is also an adjunct professor at Des Moines University working with students completing rotations for pain management and anesthesia. Dr. Quam wants patients to seek help from our pain clinic as their first choice instead of their last resort in pain management. Dr. James SykesDr. James Sykes graduated with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, IA where he is currently an adjunct professor. He completed his residency training in Anesthesiology at Grand Rapids Osteopathic Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Sykes is an Anesthesiologist at the Surgery Center of Des Moines, West. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Sykes has 30 years experience in interventional pain medicine and management of chronic pain. He is a member of multiple professional organizations including the American, Iowa, and Polk County Osteopathic Associations and the Society for Pain Management. Dr. Timothy WalshDr. Timothy Walsh graduated with a medical degree from The University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City, IA. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the Washington University School of Medicine, Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Walsh is an Anesthesiologist at the Surgery Centers of Des Moines, East and West. Dr. Walsh is board certified by The American Board of Anesthesiology. He also has numerous years (18+ yrs) providing anesthesia and pain management services. Dr. Clay RansdellDr. Clay Ransdell graduated with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, IA where he is currently an adjunct professor. He did his residency training in Anesthesiology at Ohio University/South Pointe Hospital in Cleveland, OH with outside rotations in Surgical Intensive Care, Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgical, Obstetrical, and Pediatric Anesthesia. Dr. Ransdell is an Anesthesiologist and Medical Director at the Surgery Center of Des Moines, East. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Ransdell is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Andrew SpellmanDr. Andrew Spellman graduated with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA where he served as a Teaching Assistant and University tutor. Dr. Spellman currently serves as an adjunct professor for the University. He completed his residency training in Anesthesiology at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis Missouri. Dr. Spellman is an Anesthesiologist at the Surgery Centers of Des Moines, East and West. He is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Christopher Stalvey graduated with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa where he currently serves as an adjunct professor. Dr. Stalvey completed both his Anesthesiology Residency and Fellowship in Pain Medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Prior to medical school, Dr. Stalvey received his Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Sarah Biscoglia, MSN, ARNP-CSarah Biscoglia completed her undergraduate nursing studies at Luther College in Decorah, IA and her graduate studies at the University of Tampa in Tampa, FL. Sarah is a member of the American Academy of Pain Management and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in Family Practice. Sarah has worked as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner since 1998. She has been working exclusively in the pain management field since 2000.
